A downloadable FREE 90s Windows Game for Windows

{Released: Nov. 1999}

This was the last game I finished back when I was in my teens, before I disappeared from game dev for a while. Probably the most challenging out of the horror games I made. Released in November 1999 and was the final game in the original trilogy. Control Freddy using the arrow keys & space bar.

-=Tips=-

Young sadistic me made it so when you die that, you start all the way back at the beginning of the game. That was kind of the thing to do with flash games in the early days. Here’s some hints to help you out.

  • Having trouble with the kitchen part? When Amanda gets close to the door, press space bar to use your powers to shut it. Then, before she reaches the stove top and burns her wrists to wake up, press space bar to warp her to the dream world.
  • The answers to the question part are choices: 2, 1, 3, 4.
  • Is there a gap in the floor? Try pressing space bar to use your powers.
  • In the final showdown with the spikes, take a look at the upper left of the wall.

I posted a gameplay of A Nightmare On Elm Street, hours ago, on YouTube, and I came here on ItchIo looking for this title, and I found your game. I will download and play. Thanks!

Another banger. Holy hell man. Great game. So much attention to detail. I ultimately lost and won at the same time. Cheers.

Hello, I'm a huge fan,

It took me a long time to find these gems from my past! I appreciate the work you did and continue to do!

You have inspired me long before I even knew I wanted to be a game developer. Heck, I even started my game design journey making a Nightmare on Elm Street that I scrapped after admitting defeat.

I have a new Elm Street project I have been developing for about a year now, that I would love to have your feedback on when I launch it on here!

Great to meet you and to express my gratitude,

Hi there!

I’m glad you found me and my old games!

I appreciate you saying that I inspired you. I was just a young kid with a lot of imagination and free time on my hands!

Look at you go! This looks AWESOME! Can’t wait to try it out when you get it completed. I’m going to watch some of your videos on it now.

Nice meeting you too and thank you for the kind words,
Steve
